Band Exchange 16 March 2009

Ok guys great work today.
Everything went smooth and well, just minor problems to be fixed.
In actual fact you guys did better today than the previous exchange.
A few key points i noticed today.
Clarinet: You tend to squeak when the reeds are dry so please wet them with your saliva before the performance. Remember that squeaks are considered extra noise and
will be counted as penalties towards your SYF score.
Oboe: Beware or your intonation, u tend to be out of tune easily,
please take a tuner home and train long notes to make sure that
they are always in tune.
Flutes: Tend to rush at eiger, please do look at the conductor when playing;
out of tune very easily, please listen to each other, if worse were to come,
please cut off immediately!
Trumpets: 1st trumpets can be heard, but overall the section is still messy at running notes, please practise more on those running notes and play louder during
performance.
Trombones: Please play with more confidence and louder but do not blast
Percussion: Please fix the crash cymbals for eiger ty ^^
Euphonium, Saxaphone, F.Horn : Not a bad attempt, can be heard easily today.
Thats all for the things i heard today, for more please do ask Mr. Aw for his
opinion or you can find me for the recording =)
One last reminder for the percussion, during the changing of songs,
please do not produce any sounds for the instrument or drop sticks or etc
as these will all count towards penalties as well.
Band members please pick up your instruments at the beginning of each song TOGETHER
and as a section after each rest. All these will add up to presentation marks.
Do take note that a small band can still make a big sound if all of you play in tuned. Its proven by physics by the principles of superposition of sound waves. For more information on how this works please find me too ^^
